Bala and District Angling Association
Junior Fly Tying classes.
These
are held on Wednesday evenings at the Congregational chapel vestry at
Bala. All tools and materials are provided along with expert tuition.
The classes are held from November to March.
Stephen Hollins Shield.
This
competition is held at Llyn Tegid at the beginning of July. It is a
coarse competition for junior anglers. In 2007 it was sponsored by The
Rotary Club of Bala, Environment Agency, Bala sailing Club and Plas yn
Dre restaurant. Although a competition, anglers of all abilities are
welcome as expert coaching is available to those who need it. The aim
of this competition is to promote coarse fishing.
The George Roberts Shield.
This
is a fly fishing competition held in April/May on the Tryweryn
and is again for junior anglers. It also caters for all abilities as
coaching is available. It's aim is to promote,encourage and
improve the fly fishing skills of the young angler.
