Environment Agency rod licences required on all waters and available from the Post Office on the High Street or any Post Office or on line or by phone.
Day tickets are valid on the day of issue. Weekly tickets are for 7 consecutive days. Season tickets run from January 1st to December 31st inclusive.
A junior is a person under the age of 18 when buying a permit. A local is a person living within the five parishes of Penllyn. Concessions are for persons over the age of 65 or registered disabled.
Season ticket holders have access to exchange tickets with five other clubs. Under this scheme a BDAA member may take an exchange ticket for one of the clubs below and fish their waters observing their rules. There is a nominal £1 admin fee which is not refundable for each exchange ticket plus £5 per ticket deposit which is refundable. The £5 deposit is refunded on return of the ticket provided that it is returned within the 36 hour loan period. You MUST show your current BDAA membership card to the shop assistant AS NO EXCHANGE TICKET WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT DOING SO. This is a condition set out by the committee.
Exchange tickets are available for the following clubs;
1. Cambrian Angling Association at Ffestiniog who have fishing on thirteen mountain lakes for trout and some river fishing. See their website for more details. Four tickets available
2. Llangollen Angling Association which has miles of trout and grayling fishing on the Dee at Llangollen. Should you wish to fish Llangollen waters for Salmon then this is not allowed on the Exchange ticket but you may buy a Llangollen Angling day ticket at the full cost to do this. 3. Glaslyn Angling Association at Penrhyndeudraeth who hold superb sea trout, salmon and trout fishing on the Glaslyn river that stretches from Beddgelert to Porthmadog. They also have rights on Llyn Dinas. See their website for further information. Two tickets available.
4. Loch Achonachie Angling Club in Ross Shire, Scotland. These tickets are available for extended periods due to the distances involved. Please visit their website to learn more. Four tickets available.
5. Tal Y Llyn.
The club has access to two tickets once a week throughout the season. For more deatils about Tal y Llyn see their web site. This exchange also includes the remote Llyn Bugeilyn.
Each exchange ticket is available once in any 7 day period to any individual member so that all members have a fair opportunity to use these tickets.
1.The subscriptions to be paid are as found above.
2.Environment Agency weir rules to be observed at all times. No fishing between a point 27.4M above Tryweryn weir and the confluence with the Dee.
3.Permits are not transferable.
4. All permits are issued subject to compliance with the byelaws of the Environment Agency.
5. No liability will be accepted by the Association for any damage caused on farm property, crops, etc., and members enter upon the lands of all estates at their own risk. Sympathetic consideration will be accorded to the well being of tenants at all times.
6. No dogs will be allowed to accompany Members of the association.
7. All Members must be in possession of a current permit when fishing and must produce it when asked for by any member on producing his/her permit or by any club bailiff on production of his/her identity card. The names of all persons who are unable or refuse to do so must be reported to the Committee.
8. All complaints must be submitted in writing (including email) to the Hon. secretary.
9. Members shall be responsible for the due observance of these rules and conditions and any breach of these forgoing rules and conditions of membership will be dealt with by the committee.
10. Terminal tackle not to be used in fly only water.
11. Proposals for the A.G.M and election of officers must be given in writing (including email) to the secretary five days prior to the A.G.M.
12. Executive meetings held last Tuesday in each month at Ye old Bull's Head, Bala at 7.30 pm.
13. Limit bag of fish on all club waters has changed and is as follows:
2 trout minimum size 23 cms except for Llyn Cwmprysor where the bag limit is 6, 2
grayling sized between, and including, 30 and 38 cms only, 1 pike of maximum size 65 cms. It is now illegal to keep eels of any size. Measurements are from fork of tail to tip of snout.
Salmon: Maximum of 2 salmon per season. The second fish caught may be kept and either the fourth or any one subsequent to the fourth may also be kept. Any salmon caught before June 16th is to be returned.
14.The Annual General Meeting to be held on the SECOND FRIDAY in November at 7.30pm at The Plas Coch Hotel, Bala.
CLOSE SEASON FOR SALMON, TROUT AND COARSE FISH ON ASSOCIATION
WATERS .
Brown trout.
These are in season from the 3rd of March until the 30th of September inclusive in all Association rivers. In Llyn Tegid the seasom is from March 20th to 30th September.
They are out of season, and therefore you are not allowed to fish for them, from the 1st of October until the 2nd (19th Llyn Tegid) of March inclusive. These dates apply to all Bala Angling rivers and lakes except Llyn Tegid. The minimum size of brown trout that can be kept is 23 cms measured from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail. Salmon.
These are in season from the 3rd of March until the 17th of October inclusive.
They are out of season, and therefore you are not allowed to fish for them, from the 18th of October until the 2nd of March inclusive. These dates apply to all Bala Angling rivers and lakes including Llyn Tegid. You are not permitted to keep any salmon caught before 16 th June, this is an Environment Agency byelaw which must be observed.
Coarse fish, including grayling, perch, roach, pike.
There is no close season for coarse fish in Llyn Tegid. In the lake you can therefore fish for them all year round.
On the rivers all coarse fish are in season from the 16th of June until the 14thof March inclusive. They are out of season, and therefore you are not allowed to fish for them, from the 15th of March until the 15th of June inclusive.
